Max is Player of the Year …

Max Worsfold is Swans Player of the Year 2016/17, with Waddah Ahmidi voted the Players Player of the Year at tonight’s awards. On a day of huge drama as Hendon survived relegation thanks to a swift second half goal following a superb Mo Bettamer first half strike. The game started over an hour late as the linesman struggled to make the start due to a fatal accident on the North Circular.

With more match and presentation information to follow our congratulations go to all who won awards tonight and to our hosts today …  More Soon!

When Saturday comes …

When Saturday comes, Tommy Brewer takes his resurgent Swans to a nervous Hendon for the final game of the season. Dependant on results, Hendon need to take something from the game. For Tommy and the boys it will be back to the Sports Bar for the Annual Presentation Evening [7.15pm] …

It’s 3 from 6 for the Swans …

So it was 3 points from a possible 6 over the Easter period, traditionally a make or break time for clubs but not for Tommy Brewer’s men this season. Swans played out their final home game of the season going down 1-0 to Wingate & Finchley, the visitors fighting hard to secure a play off place. Sean Cronin’s 65th minute header sealed the end of an eleven match unbeaten run for Johnson Hippolyte’s squad and sees the Swans firmly in mid-table.  Starting without Adrian Clifton the Swans looked lively but the pattern of the game changed when Spencer McCall was red carded for a ruthless tackle on Tyrell Miller-Rodney who reacted by pushing McCall and was red carded also. There were immediate responses from the Swans bench as Cash’ Hippolyte was sacrificed to bring on Ryan Case to stabilise the defence. With Wadah Ahmidi on also the Swans continued to look the better side and were unlucky on several oocasions not to get the rub of the green. Mo Bettamer shooting wide in the first half and Max going so close at the base of the post in the second being the main chances.

It was a fun day for the Staines Town Juniors who played out a warm up before the kick off and formed a massive guard of honour for the teams. Well done lads! #FamilyClub

Wingate leave with the best wishes of the home side and it is onwards to Hendon for the final game …
