STAINES TOWN FC / KINGSTON COLLEGE ACADEMY OPEN TRIAL

All the standard trials are now done for the 2017/18 season, but we will be holding an OPEN TRIAL to which any aspiring male footballer age 16-18 may attend, with a view to securing a place in the Staines Town / Kingston College Men’s Football Academy.

This will be held on Thursday 20th July 2017, with a 10:15am arrival time ready for a 10:30am start.  The session will last approximately two hours.

The VENUE is:

Hampton Wick Royal Cricket Club, Bushy Park, Hampton Wick, Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey, KT1 4AZ.

The nearest station is Hampton Wick, from where it’s 5-10 minutes’ walk to the venue.

FACILITIES – The trial will be on a natural grass surface.  Changing rooms will be available, and parking is available on site.

WHAT TO WEAR and BRING – Please wear full training kit (no track suit bottoms or hats).  Bring boots both for grass; shin pads; and a drinks bottle.  Goalkeepers can wear bottoms; should also bring gloves and a cap if required.

It is possible that you may be offered an Academy place directly after the session.   Students who are offered an Academy place will have to undertake a full-time academic course at the College, and you must apply for this as soon as possible.

Our Football Academy is widely regarded as one of the elite Further Education football establishments in the country, and has a proven record of developing young players through to senior First Team level, as can be seen on the Academy Hall of Fame at our website, www.stainestownfootballclub.co.uk.  We look forward to seeing you perform, and we wish you every success in your trial and in the year to come.

It’s the Bostik League…

From June 17th, the Isthmian Football League will be re-branded as The Bostik League in a two-year deal.
Bostik, a world leader in adhesives and sealants, has a long-standing relationship with grassroots football. This includes the sponsorship of The Northern Premier League and Southern Football League under its well-known EVO-STIK brand.

Commenting on the deal, Dale Poulton, Commercial Director of Bostik UK said: “We’ve worked hard to get this deal in place. We have a proven relationship with this tier of football and believe it’s the ideal platform to generate awareness for our brands. By working closely with the league, we’re confident the new deal will help us achieve great things for the Bostik brand.”

The League’3 divisions will be known as the Bostik Premier, the Bostik North, and the Bostik South, and over the next few weeks clubs and fans will see the introduction of the company’s branding into grounds, shirts, websites and other collateral.

Nick Robinson, Chairman of the newly branded Bostik League, concludes: “The Isthmian Football League, now entering its 113th season, has 72 clubs that rely heavily on the financial support that sponsorship generates, and teaming up is certainly welcome news for everyone involved. We are delighted to be linked with such a well-known brand.”

Graham …

A fitting tribute, thank you Gordon Harberd.

A fitting tribute to a wonderful man. The finest groundsman Staines Town. will ever have. Don’t be surprised if you see clouds turning green when Graham gets to work up above. RIP Graham.

Familiar favourites back in training…

As well as these ‘Swans’ favourites, we also expect to see the return of the bulk of the squad that finished last season strongly, with the only confirmed departure being that of Jack Turner to Slough Town.

In addition, the cream of last season’s Academy side, who achieved runners-up spot in the Isthmian Youth League West, will be involved in pre-season, alongside a crop of potential new trialling players, ranging from established names at Isthmian and National League level to a number of exciting hopefuls.

Further details will be announced in due course.
