Swans 2 Margate 2 …

What a climax there is to the Bostik Premier League this is! Swans season was put to the test today by fellow play-off hopefulls Margate. After, what looked likely to be a goalless first 45 the visitors scored either side of the break to take the game by the scruff of it’s neck. Defenders Jack Evans and Liam Friend the scorers and Margate continued to force the issue. As ‘Gate’ made a double substitution taking off leading scorer John Chiedozie Swans own leading scorer Elliot Buchanan hit his 33rd of the season to pull one back on 82 minutes. As the clock ticked Mo Bettamer hit the equaliser on 89 minutes to give the home faithful yet another exciting game. The never say die attitude instilled into the Swans by Draxs this season, and so apparent on Thursday against Folkestone was in evidence again today as the boys fought back impressively.

Swans are still in it ahead of next Thursday’s trip to Met Police, following Tuesday’s Middlesex Senior Challenge Cup game against Hendon.
