Swans 2 Brightlingsea Regent 1 …

Swans moved back into a play-off place on the back of toughing it out against the visitors Brightlingsea Regent. It was a game the Swans needed to win to maintain the pressure on the play-off hopefulls and it was a set back when Regent took the lead on 15 minutes from a good free kick powered home by Gould.

From here on in it was a case of which Swans would have turned up to grab the game back. Without Lewis Driver, Josh Webb and with Mo Bettamer on the bench it was a slightly stuttering replay. The tables turned on 39 minutes when Wadah took control and slotted home from the edge of the area and from then on it looked like a game to win rather than lose. With Folkestone losing [they won in the end] it was important that the Swans stepped it up in the second half and that is what they did. Elliot Buchanan had several powerful strikes but failed to add to his seasons tally but step forward Max Worsfold, getting stronger as the game went on, to score the decisive goal in the 55th minute and reward the fans for their encouragement.

Onwards to Saturday when Folkestone Invicta come to Wheatsheaf Park another huge game for Drax and the boys …
