Swans got right back on track as Elliott Buchanan moved on to 19 league goals and Mo Bettamer on to 16 to return to a play-off position in the Bostik Premier League.
Elliott Buchanan, with support from ‘Cash’ Hippolyte, struck first when he fired firmly past Di Barnado in the 16th minute and then Mo Bettamer finished off great play by Lewis Driver on 25 minutes. A great start for the Swans following the New Years Day loss and with both Captain Tommy Brewer and Max Worsfold sidelined was a refreshing air around Wheatsheaf Park. QPR loanee Conor Hudnott made some impressive saves and the third goal would be crucial as the Hillians pushed, hitting the bar, for a goal. Ex-Swan Tony Garrod was looking hard for a chance but was well controlled by debutant Joash Nembhard and the third goal came. Despite pressure from Burgess Hill it was the Swans who sealed the game when Wadah Ahmidi charged forward and forced Joey Taylor to put into his own net.
At 3-0 it still wasn’t over as Conor Tighe scored for the visitors to make it 3-1 at the finish. Well done to the lads and congratulations to Daniel Brown who took the captains armband with pride today.
Next weeks opponents Thurrock triumphed 1-0 away to Kingstonian with a Joe Christoe goal.
