Dorking arrived with just 21 points from their Bostik League season so far but knew exactly what to do to ensure they added 3 more to the total. The visitors took the lead in the 5th minute with a goal from McShane after pressurising Swans keeper Rosario and from then on, despite the Swans controlling the game, stifled any opportunity the Yellows had.
It was a frustrating day for the Swans and not a good one for the fans as the visitors saw 5 Yellow cards and a Red on the pitch and the Dorking Boss White sent to the stands. The fact that 9 minutes of added time had to be played showed just how much time had been wasted with even the Dorking keeper, Huk, being booked for time wasting. Elliott Buchanan, Sub ‘Cash’ Hippolyte and Mo Bettamer had the main chance but as the picture shows … the ball would just not go in the opponents net. Swans desperately went in search of the equaliser but despite the demands of Tommy Brewer to the ref to let the game flow it was not to be and it was the impressive Briggs who finished the game off late on.
Swans remain in 3rd place and, when we kicked off the campaign, we would have taken that going into Christmas! Swans next face Wingate & Finchley who thrashed the Swans earlier in the year at Wheatsheaf Park and who put in an impressive display to win 4-3 at Margate today …
Have a Great Christmas everyone and we look forward to seeing you all again soon!
