Swans fell to their second defeat in 14 days to a rejuvenated Margate side but remain in a play-off position despite the loss. It was always going to be a tough ask following the 3-0 thumping in the FA Trophy and two second half goals sealed it for the ‘Gate’.

Swans started with ‘Cash’ Hippolyte up front with former Blues man Elliot Buchanan and had Mo Bettamer on the bench. But it was an unimpressive first half for the Swans who failed to put pressure on the Margate goal. Wadah Ahmidi had a close effort but it was not going to be as former Swan Kane Haysman again put in an energetic performance for the hosts.

In the second half Margate started quickly and took the lead in the lead from Chiedozie in the 59th minute. The game was secured for the Blues in the 76th minute as Evans struck the second to ensure all 3 points went to the Kent side.

Swans will look back on the loss with dismay but remain the Leagues highest scorers ahead of next Saturdays visit from eleventh placed Tonbridge Angels to Wheatsheaf Park. with Swans having lost only once at home in the league and with 6 wins to boot!

Before the Angels arrive … Swan have a Tuesday evening trip to AFC Hayes for a Middlesex Cup 2nd Round tie …
