Swans travelled to Bognor Regis to face basement club Worthing FC and came away with just a point despite going in at half time 2-0 up. From the start Swans looked to take the points with Buchanan dragging a shot wide but Swans loan keeper Liam Driscoll was immediately tested when he turned a Dawes shot round the post. On 18 minutes Mo Bettamer cut inside the defender to make it 1-0 and almost put Bayley Brown up for the second soon after. Lewis Driver then had a header saved before a neat swivel gave Elliot Buchanan the second goal. 2-0 up at half time.
After a relatively quiet start to the second half it looked as though the Swans would take all three points but in the last 20 minutes the young Worthing squad took hold of the game and scored on 74 minutes through Dawes. Then on 82 minutes O’Sullivan levelled at 2-2 and despite Mo Bettamer having a late free-kick opportunity that was fired well over it remained 2-2.
Worthing stay rock bottom and Swans move up to 8th with Dulwich Hamlet visiting Wheatsheaf Park on Tuesday evening in a Velocity Trophy Round 1 game … Kick Off is 7.45pm.
