Swans honour Graham in style …

Swans paid a glowing tribute to ‘clubman’ Graham Gould with a 5-0 trouncing of Kingstonian this afternoon. Earlier the fans paid tribute to Graham with a minute’s applause and marked his corner in style with a banner.

The club Directors, Management, Staff and Players were deeply saddened by the loss of Graham at the age of 65 and he will forever be remembered as the man responsible for arguably the best playing surface in non-League football.

On Graham’s beloved surface Drax’s boys took there home tally to eleven in two games [12-1 for the campaign] to see the Swans charge into second place behind Harrow Borough. Swans started with Lewis Driver and Tom Gilbey in a change from Tuesday evening showing the strength in numbers Drax has achieved this year. Mo Bettamer opened the scoring on 20 minutes and Max Worsfold and Elliot Buchanan added one each just before the break to see the Swans 3-0 up at half time. As the second half started we were left to wonder would it be a copy of Tuesday evening but it was not until the last few minutes that subs Tom Collins and ‘Cash’ Hippolyte sent the Swans into a 5-0 lead. It is a massive 36 goals this period and all credit to the boys who are playing like a squad, running and supporting each other. It was great to see Ashlee Jones keep another clean sheet and the back four, whoever chosen, are solid in front of him thanks to the presence of Ben Martin. Martin and Mitchal Gough both received yelloe cards as did Sam Page for the ‘K’s …

Onwards to Dorking Wanderers next Saturday before Wingate & Finchley visit on Ban Holiday Monday …
