In the first of the pre-season home fixtures Draxs Swans out in a powerful first half shift scoring through Tyrell Miller-Rodney to go in 1-0 up at half time. There was plenty to see that gave the Swans fans hope in the way the squad played and it was a lively start with both sides looking to show their colours. There was an early scare as Max went down for and treatment was required, but in true style he ran off the injury. Shortly after Swans Harry Palmer showed his class with a great save. Swans goal in the 35th minute came from an excellent ball from Driver for Tyrell to force home and immediately after the re-start Palme saved well in a one on one.
In the second half Drax brought on four Swans subs at, Brannon Daly, Joash Nembhard, Wadah Ahmidi and Majed Osman, taking off Palmer, Gough, Worsfold and Daniel Brown. Further Swans on 60 minutes were Hippolyte, Collins and Haydon replace Driver, Webb and Miller-Rodney. The excellent Ben Martin was then replaced by Rafiq Bettamer.
It was an unusual site to see Keeper Brannon Daly makes a reaction save with his legs to deny, yep Adrian Clifton. Adrian trialling for the National League side today.
The last sub for the Swans was Kemal McEwan replacing Mo Bettamer. till the Swans held the narrow lead until Marks finally headed home to equalise. Much of the second half stuttered along but still lots to think about ahead of the next game at home to another National League side, Aldershot Town, on Tuesday evening.
