Swans get off to a winning start on the 4G pitch on a night of heavy rain, triallists and Academy players.
Swans starting XI: Palmer, Webb, Mclean, Martin, Nembhard, B.Brown, Worsfold, Hippolyte, Buchanan, Osman and Chong.
Goalkeeper Harry Palmer has most recently been on the books of Braintree Town and has been in training with the Swans over the last week. Josh Webb has been a regular in Harrow Borough’s side over the last couple of seasons. @MetPoliceFC have signed Harrow’s other Josh Webb! New signing Ben Martin skippers the first half side, following his earlier announced signing from Welling United. New signing Elliot Buchanan makes his return to the Swans tonight, following his capture from Chelmsford City.
Buchanan hit the bar from a penalty following Cash being tripped but it was Sports taking the lead through Richards. He forces the ball home from close range after a free kick into the box. 1-0 at halftime…
Swans 2nd half: Daly, Gough, R.Bettamer, D.Brown, M.Bettamer, Haile, Baptiste, Vincent, Sarpong, Hawtin, McEwan.
Brannon Daly – Goalkeeper formerly with Met.Police. Lartey Sarpong – last term with Billericay and Grays. Charlie Hawtin – ex Oxford Utd. Kamal McEwan – former of Boreham Wood. Academy graduates Elliot Baptiste and Jack Vincent.
Goal – A super curling strike by Elliot Baptiste levels the scores on 55 minutes. A great finish from twenty yards after a good pass move.
Goal – it’s 2-1 to the Swans as Mo Bettamer smashes the ball across goal and into the far corner from a tight angle on 66 minutes.
Final substitution for the Swans on 75 minutes sees David Femiola (ex-Cambridge City and AFC Wimbledon) replaces goalscorer Baptiste.
And with the last effort of the game, the lively Mo Bettamer fires just over.
Full time and it’s a winning start for the Swans 2-1.
