Futsal Champions!

Staines Town U18 6-2 Hendon FC

15 min: A deflected Dwane-Holden shot is parried by Hendon keeper Harpin, but Nebay Haile not quite able to convert the rebound. 20 min: Joe Tuck flights a speculative ball in from the right, it sails over Harpin & drops in to the far corner to give Staines a 1-0 lead. 45+ min: Nebay Haile’s corner was headed against the bar by Michael Dwane-Holden & the same player nodded it over the line to make it 2 as it came back to him. 51 mins: Vukasinovič fouled White in the box, who got up to reduce the arrears from the penalty spot. 63 min: Nebay Haile’s free kick into the box and clinically finished from close range by George Smith for 3-1. 74 min: Hendon back in it as White’s powerful shot from 10 yards makes it 3-2. Just 3 mins after coming on, Charlie Brown nets Staines’ fourth after an Earley cross proves too good for the keeper. 89 mins: Rhys Jones’ great cross from the right, expertly controlled and powerfully despatched by Nebay Haile for 5-2. Swans hit the bar but in the 90th min Charlie Brown heads a 6th goal for the home side. An Excellent result against the team currently 2nd in the league and still unbeaten at home in the league.

Staines Town Futsal Squad.
Staines made their way to East Surrey College for the Surrey FA Futsal Tournament. Having won the tournament last year the boys were looking to make it 2 years in a row!

Game 1: 2-1 win v Nescot B

Game 2: 1-1 draw v Nescot A

Game 3: 4-1 win v East Surrey College A

Game 4: 4-1 win v East Surrey College B

Only a Nescot A win by 5 or more goals would stop us being crowned champions, but as they lost 5-4 in the last game of the tournament it made us Champions for the second year running! Massive Thanks to Go4Goal, Andy Maciel and Paul Jones for preparing & helping the boys to victory again this year! Amazing stuff.
