Swans 1 Havant & Waterlooville 4 …

deshane-2

Ahead of 3 tough away games the Swans suffered a big defeat at the hands of a buoyant top of the table Hawks side. An early mix up gave Havant a narrow half time lead but despite Deshane Dalling’s late consolation goal it was always going to be an away victory …

The visitors came to Wheatsheaf Park in positive mode and early challenges saw them win the majority of 50/50 balls putting the Swans on the back foot. A mix up at the back left Alfie Rutherford through to score as early as 3 minutes. Adrian Clifton looked strong from the start and was unlucky to receive a yellow card for a challenge that though tough, was seen to be one showing the studs. Apart from a few chances it was mainly Hawks who looked the more promising and went in 1-0 up at half time.

Second half goals from Rutherford, Lewis and Barker ensured all 3 points for Havant and a short period of pressure from the Swans saw Academy player Deshane Dalling put the ball in the net on 87 minutes. Swans also had the ball in the net from Adrian Clifton but the referee ruled it offside. It was good to see Daniel Brown back on the pitch following an injury and it would be good to see Mitchal Gough back to see off the challenges ahead.

Next Up, Dulwich Hamlet on Tuesday evening at the Champions Hill Stadium … #FollowtheSwans
