A comprehensive display at VCD Athletic saw Staines Town run out comfortable winners against their second-bottom hosts who were forced to play 80 minutes with 10 men.
A first-half goal from Daniel Brown – his 12th minute free-kick beating the wall and leaving keeper Max Huxter flat-footed – and a stunning volley a minute after half time from Jonathan Hippolyte – were the highlights as Swans cantered to a victory which means they have now picked up 14 points from their last 21 in Ryman Premier.
It was their biggest away league win of the season.
The visitors rang the changes, Bobby Behzadi, Hippolyte and Wada Ahmadi, superb in a holding midfield role, brought in for Ahmed Abdulla, Tyrell Miller-Rodney and the departed Ryan Gondoh, whose loan spell from Barnet ended.
Classy Tommy Wright had a shot charged down in the first minute as Staines imposed themselves from the first whistle and Hippolyte should have hit the target when played through.
The game’s first key moment came after 10 minutes when Brown fired a ball over the top to Hippolyte to run on to. He was clipped by defender Frantz Tchonang who, as the last man, was sent off.
Brown struck the free-kick into the net and Hippolyte, as well as skipper Tommy Brewer, both had shots saved by Huxter from good positions.
